    Happy Dogs - Stuyvesant Town

Happy Dogs is a great doggy daycare place with wonderful staff. There are two large rooms where the dogs hang out and play, as well as a small concrete outdoor patio, where they get to go in small groups once per day. The dogs are not separated into large and small dog areas, but they […]

    Stuyvesant Square Dog Park

The dog park at Stuyvesant Square is a nice small park. It’s very pretty, surrounded by tall trees, which also provide good shade in the summer. The ground is a mixture of pavement and cobblestones, and there are benches surrounding the perimeter where dog owners sit and watch their dogs play. There are not separate […]

    Tompkins Square Dog Run

Tompkins Square park has a large fenced-in dog run, with a separate area for small dogs under 25  lbs. The ground is dirt, which is nice on dogs’ feet and makes it easy to play fetch. 5 Napkin Burger

5 Napkin is a decent burger chain in Manhattan with oversized burgers and gluten-free bun offerings. The Union Square location has a bunch of outdoor tables where dogs are allowed, and the people watching is always interesting near Union Square.

    Vamos!

Vamos! is a decent Mexican place with a lot of dog-friendly and group-friendly outdoor seating. They have flavored and frozen margaritas, as well as a variety of Mexican beers and tasty micheladas. The food may not be the best Mexican you’ve ever eaten, but it’s not bad, and I highly recommend the queso.

    Petite Abeille - Gramercy

This two-restaurant Belgian chain is best known for its brunch (try the waffle or the croque madame) and beer list. The Chelsea location is supposed to have a little more character, but this Gramercy location is on the corner for good people-watching, and there are a lot of outdoor tables that are often available.
